Turkmenistan: We want Turkish banks to open branches in our country

Batyr Atdayev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, spoke at the Turkmenistan-Turkey Business Forum held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Center in the capital, Ashgabat. Stating that the friendship and brotherhood relations between Turkmenistan and Turkey are very rich, Atdayev expressed that these relations have reached a high level thanks to the efforts of the heads of state of both countries.

A NEW STAGE HAS BEEN REACHED IN RELATIONS

Atdayev said that with the high-level meetings held between the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on October 25-26, it was confirmed that "a new stage has been reached in bilateral relations."

JOINT INVESTMENT FUND

Pointing out the importance of establishing a joint investment fund and a joint working group to attract foreign capital to the major energy and infrastructure projects implemented in the country, Atdayev said, "In this context, in order to financially regulate the activities of Turkish investors and industrialists in the country, our President has initiated a move to evaluate the issue of some major Turkish banks opening branches in Turkmenistan."

Atdayev stated that regular business meetings between the transport companies of the two countries provide broad opportunities for creating mutually beneficial collaborations.
