Two Turks on Forbes' list of richest immigrants
According to Forbes' new list, the total wealth of 144 immigrant billionaires living in the US has reached 2.2 trillion dollars.

Two Turkish names have appeared on Forbes' new list ranking the wealthiest foreign-born citizens living in the US. Eren Özmen and Fatih Özmen were featured among America's richest immigrant billionaires.
According to this year's data, the number of immigrant billionaires in the US has risen to 144. The total wealth of these individuals was calculated at 2.2 trillion dollars. While there were 125 immigrant billionaires on the list last year, their total wealth was at the 1.3 trillion dollar level.
According to Forbes' calculations, immigrants make up approximately 15 percent of all billionaires in the US. However, about a quarter of the billionaire wealth in the country is held by this group.
TECHNOLOGY BILLIONAIRES AT THE TOP
Among the most notable names on the list were South African-born Elon Musk, Google co-founder Sergey Brin, and Nvidia co-founder Jensen Huang. It was stated that the wealth of these three individuals accounts for more than 60 percent of the total wealth of the immigrant billionaires on the list.
The billionaires on the Forbes list come from 45 different countries and territories. Last year, this number was 42. Haiti, the Philippines, Poland, and Spain joined the countries represented on the list this year, while Guatemala dropped off the list following the departure of Duolingo co-founder Luis von Ahn from the billionaire club.
While the inclusion of Turkey-born Eren Özmen and Fatih Özmen on the list drew attention, Chobani founder Hamdi Ulukaya was not included. Forbes US evaluated Ulukaya, with his 12.2 billion dollar fortune, on the Forbes Turkey list due to citizenship/listing scope.
By country, India became the country with the most immigrant billionaires for the second consecutive year. The number of India-born billionaires rose to 19 this year from 12 last year. Israel and Taiwan followed India with 11 billionaires each.
Among the newcomers to the list are venture capitalist Hemant Taneja, Astera Labs co-founders Sanjay Gajendra and Jitendra Mohan, and Palantir Chief Technology Officer Shyam Sankar. India stood out as the only country to produce more than one new billionaire this year.
Forbes reported that the net worths in the ranking were calculated as of July 8. Foreign-born US citizens living outside the country were not included in the scope of this list.
