Vice President Yılmaz provides rate for civil servant salary increase

Following the announcement of the minimum wage, civil servants, contract workers, and retirees have focused on salary increases. The rate of increase will be determined after the inflation rate is announced today.

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) will announce the December inflation data today at 10:00.

According to TÜİK data, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 3.28 percent in November compared to the previous month, while consumer prices rose by 33.66 percent in the July-November period. Thus, in the 5-month period, the 6 percent salary increase rate was exceeded, leading to the situation of providing an inflation difference.

Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz stated that the salary increase for civil servants and retired civil servants would be close to 50 percent, including the collective bargaining agreement and the inflation difference. 

Accordingly, the 2024 civil servant salaries have been determined.

Following the minimum wage, eyes have turned to civil servant and retiree salaries. Civil servants and retired civil servants will receive 15 percent plus an inflation difference for the first 6 months of 2024. A difference of 26.09 percent has emerged with the first 5 months of inflation. The final difference that will be formed with the December data will be added to the 15 percent increase in January. This is also expected to reach 50 percent.

Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz stated that a special study is being conducted for the lowest pension of 7,500 TL.

According to the 50% civil servant increase announced by Cevdet Yılmaz, the 2024 civil servant salaries are:
