Weekly investment gains: stock market, foreign exchange, and gold performance

The past week offered different earning opportunities for investors. Stocks traded on Borsa Istanbul showed a 1.24 percent increase on a weekly basis. In foreign exchange rates, the dollar/TL rose by 0.64 percent, and the Euro/TL rose by 0.20 percent. The gram price of gold, however, recorded a decline of 0.32 percent.

The BIST 100 index closed the week at 9,432.55 points, achieving a 1.24 percent increase compared to the previous week. During the week, the index saw a low of 9,268.07 and a high of 9,531.35 points.

In the Grand Bazaar, the gram price of 24-karat bullion gold fell to 4,055 liras with a 0.32 percent decrease. The Republic gold coin traded at 27,420 liras, down 0.31 percent. The price of the quarter gold coin decreased by 0.34 percent to 6,792 liras.

In the foreign exchange market, the US dollar rose by 0.64 percent to 38.4230 liras, and the Euro rose by 0.20 percent to 43.7160 liras.

Investment funds also gained 1.08 percent in value this week, while pension funds showed the same rate of increase. Among investment funds, the top performers were 'mixed and variable' funds with 1.76 percent.
