Turkey has said 'hello' to 2024. With the new year, several regulations have also come into force. As of January 1, 2024, a new era has begun in many areas, ranging from residential rentals and price lists in restaurants to passenger transport.
RESTAURANTS WILL DISPLAY PRICES AT THE ENTRANCE
According to the report compiled by NTV; restaurants, eateries, cafes, and other businesses providing food and beverage services are now required to place their price tariffs in front of the business's entrance door. The list will also be available on the tables.
The text and prices must be easily visible and readable by consumers. The regulation aims to prevent consumer grievances.
NEW ERA IN RESIDENTIAL RENTALS
As of today, a new era has also begun for tourism-purpose residential rentals.
With the regulation aimed at preventing unregistered activities, a permit must be obtained before any contract for renting out residences for tourism purposes.
Those who rent out their residences for this purpose without a permit will be subject to an administrative fine of 100 thousand liras for each residence rented.
A period of 15 days will be granted to operate by obtaining a permit.
At the end of this period, those who continue to rent without obtaining a permit will be fined 500 thousand liras.
VEHICLE TRACKING DEVICES FOR BUSES
A new era has also begun in passenger transport. A requirement has been introduced for intercity passenger buses to be equipped with vehicle tracking devices.
The location, date, and time information of the vehicles will be transmitted electronically to the "Transport Electronic Tracking and Inspection System" in 2-minute intervals.
REGULATION ON OVERSEAS PHONE REGISTRATION
Another regulation has been implemented for mobile phones imported from abroad or brought by passengers.
Mobile phone IMEI number registration processes will be carried out through accounts allocated to importers or manufacturers. Unauthorized accounts will not be able to perform IMEI registration.
STRICT TRACKING FOR CONSTRUCTION REBAR
A tracking regulation regarding construction rebar has been put into effect. Construction rebar will be tracked from the production and import stage to the stage of use in buildings.
System data will be transferred to the ministries' information systems. With this step, it is aimed to prevent the use of low-quality rebar.
