Stocks traded on Borsa Istanbul lost an average of 16.57 percent in value on a weekly basis, while foreign exchange rates and gold prices showed an upward trend. The dollar/TL gained 3.65 percent, the euro/TL gained 3.57 percent, and gram gold increased by 4.17 percent.
The BIST 100 index fluctuated between 8,984.54 and 10,902.61 points, ending the week at 9,044.64 points, a decline of 16.57 percent compared to the previous close.
In the Grand Bazaar, the gram selling price of 24-karat bullion gold increased by 4.17 percent this week to 3,671 liras. Republic gold gained 4.13 percent in value, rising to 24,846 liras.
The selling price of quarter gold, which was 5,903 TL last weekend, rose to 6,152 TL with an increase of 4.22 percent.
The dollar/TL rose by 3.65 percent this week to 38.0130 TL, while the euro/TL gained 3.57 percent to reach 41.3460 TL.
Investment funds lost 0.49 percent and pension funds lost 2.60 percent in value on a weekly basis. Among investment funds, "precious metals" funds were the top-performing category with a gain of 5.83 percent.
