Which investment vehicle performed best this week? Stocks, gold, dollar, euro

While stocks traded on Borsa Istanbul lost an average of 0.86 percent on a weekly basis, the gram price of gold increased by 2.63 percent, the euro/TL rate by 1.16 percent, and the dollar/TL rate by 0.49 percent.

The BIST 100 index, after seeing a low of 9,708.34 and a high of 10,078.12 points, finished the week at 9,821.96 points, losing 0.86 percent compared to the previous week's close.

The gram selling price of 24-karat bullion gold traded in the Grand Bazaar increased by 2.63 percent this week to 2,688 liras, while the selling price of Republic gold rose by 2.46 percent to 17,735 liras.

The selling price of quarter gold, which was 4,345 liras last weekend, rose to 4,451 liras.

This week, the US dollar gained 0.49 percent to reach 33.7010 liras, and the euro rose by 1.16 percent to 37.0610 liras.

Investment funds gained 0.69 percent and pension funds gained 0.52 percent this week.

When viewed by category, the best-performing investment funds were "Precious Metals" funds with a gain of 3.89 percent.
