Will 2024 take the 2023 IPO record?
While it is noted that approximately 30 to 40 companies could be listed on the stock exchange in 2024 and that IPOs could accelerate, especially in the second half of the year, investors are being warned to be more selective.

In the last three years, 146 companies have gone public. The total IPO volume reached 120.1 billion TL.
In 2021 and 2022, 52 and 40 companies went public, respectively. The total IPO volumes were 22.4 billion TL and 19.6 billion TL. Following 2021 and 2022, 2023 also became a record year in terms of IPOs.
NUMBER OF INDIVIDUAL INVESTORS INCREASED BY 3.9 MILLION
In 2023, when 54 new companies entered the market, the total IPO volume reached 79.9 billion TL. The record number of IPOs that took place in 2023 played a leading role in the 3.9 million increase in the number of individual investors.
The number of equity investors, which was 2.22 million in the first quarter of 2021, rose to a peak level of 8.6 million in October 2023. Thus, while 146 companies went public in the last three years, the total IPO volume was 120.1 billion TL (7 billion dollars).
This corresponds to almost 6 percent of the publicly traded market value. The average number of investors participating in IPOs, which was 262 thousand in the first quarter of 2021, reached 3.48 million in the last quarter of 2023.
Whether the IPO wind will continue in 2024 is a matter of curiosity.
