18 million students head into mid-term break

Approximately 18 million students studying in primary and secondary education institutions under the Ministry of National Education (MEB) will enter the first mid-term break of the 2025-2026 academic year, which begins on Monday, November 10.
MID-TERM BREAK IS BETWEEN NOVEMBER 10-14
According to the ministry's calendar, the first term mid-term break will begin on Monday, November 10, and end on Friday, November 14. Students will attend their final classes before the break on Saturday, November 8. During the mid-term break, students will have a five-day rest period.
During this period, teachers will complete their professional development seminars, scheduled for November 10-14, online without having to go to school. The distance education programs conducted by the Ministry of National Education will cover new term practices and educational content for teachers.
SCHOOL BELL WILL RING AGAIN ON NOVEMBER 17
Following the mid-term break, students will return to their classrooms on Monday, November 17. The first term will end on Friday, January 16, 2026. Students will go on semester break between January 19 and January 30, 2026.
SECOND TERM CALENDAR DETERMINED
The second term of the 2025-2026 academic year will begin on Monday, February 2. The term will conclude on Friday, June 26. Students will have their second term mid-term break between March 16 and March 20, 2026.
