2026 YKS preference guide: Which department can be chosen with which score?

University base scores and success rankings are back on the agenda for candidates preparing for the 2026 YKS preference process. When creating a preference list for programs that accept students based on TYT, AYT, and YDT score types, it is necessary to pay attention not only to the score but also to the success ranking, quota, and program requirements.
The lowest and highest placement scores for 2026 will be finalized after the placement procedures are completed. For this reason, candidates primarily use the 2025 placement score, success ranking, and quota data from ÖSYM as a reference during the preference period.
HOW WILL PREFERENCES BE MADE?
YKS preferences will be made via ÖSYM's Candidate Transactions System (AİS). Candidates will be able to select a maximum of 24 universities and programs during the preference period. The process will not be considered valid until the preferences are entered into the system and confirmed.
Experts recommend that candidates check the special conditions, quotas, and success rankings in the current preference guide while creating their preference list. This is because base scores can change every year depending on quotas, application density, and the success rankings of the candidates.
PROGRAMS THAT STAND OUT BY SCORE RANGES
Although data from previous years gives candidates a general idea, it does not guarantee placement in any program. Especially in 4-year undergraduate programs, the success ranking stands out as a more decisive indicator than the score.

In the 200-220 score band, some associate degree programs stand out more. Oral and Dental Health, Physiotherapy, Computer Programming, Justice, Civil Aviation Cabin Services, Banking and Insurance, Child Development, and Interior Design are among the options that candidates research in this range.
