2026 YKS top scorers announced by province and school
The students who ranked at the top of the 2026 Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) and the participation rates have been shared by ÖSYM. It has also been determined which provinces and schools the successful candidates across Turkey came from.

With the announcement of the 2026 YKS results, for which approximately 2.5 million candidates applied this year, the top-ranking students and their schools have been shared with the public. While the students who reached the top in the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT), Field Proficiency Tests (AYT), and Foreign Language Test (YDT) sessions have been identified, candidates can view their exam results on the official ÖSYM website using their Turkish ID numbers and passwords. According to the ÖSYM calendar, university preferences can be submitted between July 29 and August 10.
According to the information shared by ÖSYM President Prof. Dr. Bayram Ali Ersoy, out of the 2 million 425 thousand 627 candidates who applied for the TYT, 2 million 255 thousand 76 participated in the exam, while 170 thousand 551 people did not take this session. In the AYT session, 1 million 473 thousand 113 candidates took part; 154 thousand 857 candidates did not participate. In the YDT session, although 203 thousand 640 candidates applied, 143 thousand 270 people took the exam, and 60 thousand 370 people did not participate.
Participation rates in the exam remained higher among female candidates. In the TYT, the participation of male candidates was 91.48%, while for female candidates it was 94.21%. Similarly, female participation was higher in the AYT and YDT sessions.
BALANCE IN TEST AVERAGES
According to the released data, the average number of correct answers for final-year high school students was determined to be 20.5 in the Turkish test, 10.2 in social sciences, 6.8 in basic mathematics, and 4.3 in science. While male candidates achieved higher averages in 8 of the 11 sub-tests within the AYT, female candidates stood out in 3 tests.

In the 2026 YKS, five students shared the top spot in Turkey in the Basic Proficiency Test field. İlker Uyanıker from İstanbul Yıldız Technical University Maçka Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, Abdullah Uslu from Eskişehir Fatih Science High School, Miraç Koşar from Şanlıurfa Science High School, Doğa Erdemir from Kadıköy Anatolian High School, and Şerif Efe Dartar from Kabataş Boys' High School shared this success.
At the end of the Field Proficiency Tests, Şerif Efe Dartar from Kabataş Boys' High School in the numerical field, Enes Salahaddin Coşkun from Kartal Anatolian İmam Hatip High School in the verbal field, and Tuğsem Bahar, also from Kabataş Boys' High School, in the equally weighted field achieved the top rank in Turkey.
In the Foreign Language Test, Eylül Uyar from Kabataş Boys' High School in German, Ammar Moataz Mohamed Ibrahım Mahmoud from Kartal Anatolian İmam Hatip High School in Arabic, Sena İlhan from Denizli Open Education High School in French, Doğa Erdemir from Kadıköy Anatolian High School in English, and Ela Demirel from Ahmet Keleşoğlu Science High School in Russian stood out by achieving first place in their respective fields.
These students, who achieved success from different provinces and various high schools across Turkey, are waiting for the calendar determined by ÖSYM to complete their preferences for their university goals.
