28 thousand lira scholarship for those studying this department

University support programs for the textile sector by the Istanbul Apparel Exporters' Association (İHKİB) continue to positively influence students' career choices. Sector representatives state that the scholarships provided, coupled with the increasing need for young textile engineering graduates, have triggered a rise in department preferences.

Speaking at a meeting organized by the association, İHKİB Vice President Mustafa Paşahan stated that Turkey is an important producer in the global market in the apparel sector. Drawing attention to the role of education and young engineers in this success, Paşahan underlined that the sustainability of the sector depends on a strong educational infrastructure.

Within the scope of the recently launched scholarship program, financial support at the level of the minimum wage is provided every month to students who choose textile engineering departments at universities. Mustafa Paşahan stated, "Before the scholarship program, our department preference rate was around 30 percent. With the introduction of the support, this rate has risen to 90 percent."

It is emphasized that the scholarship program plays a major role both in training qualified labor for the sector and in increasing interest in textile engineering. Thanks to this support, the number of young people who want to receive education in the field of textiles has shown a significant increase in recent years.
