Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin made statements to the press regarding the debates on the LGS following his visit to the "The Name of Victory is Turkey: Special Children Exhibition," which opened at the MEB Council Hall as part of the July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day. Responding harshly to the allegations of irregularities voiced by the public following the results, Tekin said, "We are explaining it clearly, as if explaining to someone with a mental disability. But they are not satisfied," he said.

CLEAR RESPONSE TO THE "QUESTIONS WERE LEAKED" ALLEGATION: THE SECURITY TIME IS KNOWN

Regarding the allegations that the exam questions were leaked, Tekin stated that the exam ended at 10:45 and the questions appeared on social media at 11:57. Stating that this time difference is proof of everything, Tekin said, "For a person to interpret this as a leak, they must either have a lack of mental faculties or be seeking manipulation."

"DO NOT POLLUTE THE MINDS OF THESE CHILDREN"

Yusuf Tekin also reacted to the claims that hundreds of top scorers emerged from some cities after 719 students received full marks in the LGS. "Without any shame, they say 'there are 300 top scorers from one province.' What is the point of confusing the minds of these children?" he said.

HARSH CRITICISM OF İNCE AND THE CHP

Reacting harshly to Muharrem İnce, who joined the CHP, describing the exam as "foul-smelling," Tekin said, "If there is a foul smell, it is coming from those being tried for bribery in places where Republican People's Party municipalities are located. If they leave the CHP Headquarters, they will get rid of the foul smell," he said.

Tekin accused the Republican People's Party of conducting political debates over children.

Yusuf Tekin also responded to experts' criticisms of the clustering in the exam with numbers. He emphasized that the ratio of students in the top bracket has not changed since 2018.

Minister Tekin also denied the claim that all students who received full marks applied to the same schools.

"THEY ARE CASTING SUSPICION ON TEACHERS FOR THE SAKE OF POLITICAL GAIN"

Minister of National Education Tekin stated that the criticisms made against the exam system also targeted teachers, saying, "Instead of thanking our teachers, they are casting suspicion on them. Can there be such a shallow perspective?" he said.

"IF THERE HAD BEEN IRREGULARITIES IN THE LGS, WE WOULD HAVE DONE WHAT WAS NECESSARY"

Emphasizing that there is no room for any doubt regarding exam security, Minister Tekin said, "A team of 1 million 200 thousand people organized the exams. We would do what is necessary even at the slightest suspicion. Success and exam integrity are entrusted to us," he said.
