The review regarding two questions that were a subject of debate among candidates in the 2026 Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) has been completed. The Assessment, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) has changed the correct answer to one question in the Field Proficiency Test (AYT) Mathematics section and decided to cancel one question in the Turkish Language and Literature-Social Sciences-1 test following the evaluation of appeals.
ÖSYM ANNOUNCES THE RESULT OF THE REVIEW
In the statement made by ÖSYM, it was noted that item analyses of the TYT session held on June 20, 2026, and the AYT session held on June 21, 2026, were examined, answer keys were checked, and appeals from candidates were evaluated from a scientific perspective.
The statement included the following:
"The item analyses of the 2026-YKS 1st Session Basic Proficiency Test (TYT) administered on June 20, 2026, and the 2026-YKS 2nd Session Field Proficiency Tests (AYT) administered on June 21, 2026, have been examined, the checks of the answer keys have been completed, and the appeals have been evaluated from a scientific perspective; the ÖSYM Board of Directors has decided:
To change the answer to question number 23 in the Field Proficiency Tests Mathematics Test Basic Question Booklet, which was entered as “C”, to “A”;
To cancel question number 20 in the Turkish Language and Literature-Social Sciences-1 Test Basic Question Booklet. The evaluation will be carried out in accordance with the provision in the "3.10.1. How Will Exam Scores Be Calculated?" article of the 2026-YKS Guide, which states: "Questions decided to be canceled by ÖSYM or judicial authorities after the exam will be excluded from the evaluation, and scoring will be performed by recalculating the point value of the valid questions."
SCORING WILL BE DONE ACCORDING TO THE GUIDE
ÖSYM announced that the canceled question will be excluded from the evaluation and that scoring will be carried out by recalculating the point values of the valid questions in line with the provisions in the 2026-YKS Guide.
