With a circular signed by Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin and sent to 81 provinces, the principles regarding the work and activities to be implemented in schools for the 2026-2027 academic year have been determined. The new academic term will begin on Monday, September 14.
The circular, titled "Tasks and Procedures Regarding the 2026-2027 Academic Year," includes regulations concerning the work to be carried out in public and private educational institutions affiliated with the Ministry of National Education in the new term.
The circular also refers to the Law on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Integration, which was published in the Official Gazette after being passed by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) and is known in the public sphere as the framework law. With this regulation, it is requested that the topics of national unity and social integration be incorporated into educational activities.
GOALS SET FOR STUDENTS
The Ministry of National Education has requested that efforts be made to raise students in line with the understanding of constitutional citizenship and the principle of equality. The circular states that the goal is for students to adopt a sense of national unity and solidarity, and to gain awareness in upholding the law of the homeland and brotherhood.
In this context, social integration has been included among the topics to be addressed in events and activities to be organized in schools during the new academic year.
The circular further states that the national stance set forth within the scope of the Law on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Integration is among the Ministry's fundamental priorities.
