Details announced for the Academy Entrance Exam replacing KPSS

The Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) has announced the subject distributions for the 2025 Ministry of National Education Academy Entrance Exam (MEB-AGS) and the Teaching Field Knowledge Test (ÖABT). The exams will be held in two sessions on July 13, 2025.

EXAM SCOPE

The ÖABT exam will cover the fields of Turkish, Primary School Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Turkish Language and Literature, History, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Chemical Technology, Biology, Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge, Imam-Hatip High School Vocational Courses, Guidance, Primary School Teaching, Preschool, and Physical Education.

EXAM DURATION AND TEST STRUCTURE

In the MEB-AGS, candidates will have 110 minutes to complete 80 multiple-choice questions. In the ÖABT, the distribution of questions will be as follows: The Primary School Mathematics, Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Chemical Technology tests will last 90 minutes, while tests in other fields will last 70 minutes. For foreign language fields in the ÖABT, the results of the Foreign Language Proficiency Exam (YDS/e-YDS) will be used.

SCORING SYSTEM

The number of correct and incorrect answers for each candidate will be determined. One-fourth of the incorrect answers will be subtracted from the number of correct answers to calculate the candidates' raw scores. In the AGS, 6 different subject areas will be evaluated as sub-tests, and separate raw scores will be calculated for each. The scores for each sub-test will be converted into standard scores with a mean of 50 and a standard deviation of 10. Similarly, for the ÖABT, raw scores will be calculated for each test, and after determining the mean and standard deviation values, they will be converted into standard scores with a mean of 50 and a standard deviation of 10. Finally, the standard scores calculated for all tests will be aggregated according to weighted ratios to form weighted scores.

LANGUAGE GROUPS AND FOREIGN LANGUAGE SCORES

For foreign language exams, candidates can use their YDS and e-YDS results in their AGS application. Scores based on these language groups will be calculated separately for each language. If a candidate has more than one foreign language exam result, only the highest score will be taken into account.
