Governorates announce one after another: Schools closed today in 4 provinces! (Which provinces have school closures on Monday, December 16?)

Education has been suspended for 1 day due to heavy snow and icing in the Şavşat and Yusufeli districts of Artvin and for bussed education, in the Çamlıhemşin district of Rize, the Bayat district of Çorum, and the Göynük, Mudurnu, Seben, and Kıbrıscık districts of Bolu.

The districts where education has been suspended due to snow are listed as follows:

ARTVİN

In a statement made by the Şavşat District Governorate, it was noted that according to assessments received from the Provincial Directorate of Meteorology, disruptions in transportation may occur due to heavy precipitation and icing in the district, and the following statements were included:

"Due to the risks that may arise for the safety of our students, education has been suspended for 1 day on Monday, December 16, in primary and secondary schools, special education and rehabilitation centers, and public education centers."

The Yusufeli District Governorate also announced that due to potential disruptions in transportation resulting from the ongoing adverse weather conditions in the district, education has been suspended tomorrow in primary and secondary schools and public education centers.

It was noted that pregnant and disabled personnel working in public institutions in both districts will also be considered on leave on the same date.

RİZE

Education has been suspended in the Çamlıhemşin district of Rize due to snow and icing.

In the statement made by the District Governorate, the following was stated:

"Due to the adverse weather conditions in our district, education will be suspended for 1 day in primary and secondary schools on Monday, 16.12.2024. Disabled and pregnant personnel working in public institutions and organizations will also be considered on administrative leave."

ÇORUM

The Bayat District Directorate of National Education in Çorum reported that snowfall is effective in the district.

It was stated that education in primary and secondary schools in the Bayat district has been suspended for one day on Monday due to adverse weather conditions. On the other hand, the district center turned white due to the snowfall that started in the evening hours.

BOLU

In a post made on the social media account of the Bolu Governorate, it was stated that due to the snowfall and icing effective in Bolu, education has been suspended for 1 day on Monday, December 16, in all official and private educational institutions (including rehabilitation centers and Quran courses) in the Göynük, Mudurnu, Seben, and Kıbrıscık districts.

The statement expressed that pregnant and disabled personnel, mothers whose children attend daycare or kindergarten, and personnel with chronic illnesses working in institutions in the aforementioned districts will be considered on administrative leave on the same day.
