Sabah columnist Okan Müderrisoğlu wrote that "game-changing surprises" are on the way regarding the duration of university education and vocational schools.

Relaying his conversation with YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, Müderrisoğlu stated that 99.5 percent of engineers working in the Turkish defense industry are graduates of universities in Turkey.

Müderrisoğlu said, "I will suffice with stating that many game-changing surprises are coming very soon in the context of university education duration and vocational schools!"

Müderrisoğlu used the following expressions in his column:

"Let me state it clearly. If you look for reasons for pessimism, you will find them. But pessimism is contagious, and it swallows the masses it pulls into its vortex of hopelessness in a way that they can never recover. Turkey has the right to know about its positive and good examples alongside the aspects that can be criticized. The reason for writing all of this..."

"It is based on a short conversation I had with YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar. When the conversation turned to the domestic and national defense industry, which is in the midst of a great breakthrough, Professor Erol touched upon a study at the 5 major companies leading the Turkish defense industry. Do you know that 99.5 percent of the engineers at these companies, which turn world-renowned projects into success stories, are graduates of Turkish universities? No one should ignore the strong link between the revolution that the national defense industry has achieved with national engineers and the standard of our universities."

"I will stop here for now, but I will suffice with stating that many game-changing surprises are coming very soon in the context of university education duration and vocational schools!"
