IMM dormitory applications concluded: Results to be announced starting September 4

The application process for student dormitories, where the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) will provide housing services to higher education students for the 2026-2027 academic year, has been completed. Applications, which began on August 18, ended on August 25.

Students enrolled in universities in Istanbul applied to the IMM Student Dormitories, which will serve in 16 dormitories this year. 11 of the dormitories are located on the European Side, and 5 are on the Anatolian Side.

Applications were accepted for students who are citizens of the Republic of Turkey, are enrolled in a higher education institution providing formal education in Istanbul, whose families reside outside of Istanbul, and who have not turned 30 years old. Candidates were also required not to be public personnel and not to work in a paid job with a salary exceeding one and a half times the gross minimum wage, excluding mandatory internships.

According to the information provided by the IMM, the evaluation process began after the application screens were closed. Students who earn the right to housing from the main list will be able to pre-register at yurt.ibb.istanbul between September 4-6, following the announcement of the results.

Final registrations will be taken at the dormitories where the students are placed between September 16-19. Students on the waiting list will be invited to replace main-list candidates who do not arrive for final registration on these dates.
