In the spotlight over allegations of irregularities: Which provinces produced the top LGS scorers?
The Ministry of National Education (MEB) has published its statistical report on the LGS, which has remained in the spotlight due to allegations of irregularities. According to the 2025 LGS results, Istanbul was the city with the highest number of students achieving a perfect score. Minister Tekin, who announced that an administrative investigation had been launched against 29 people following claims that the LGS question booklet was leaked before the exam, had categorically denied allegations that the questions were stolen.

The 2025 LGS Statistical Report published by the Ministry of National Education revealed that 719 students answered all questions correctly in this year's centralized exam, achieving a perfect score of 500. A total of 963 thousand 142 students participated in the exam held on June 15, with a participation rate of 95.27 percent. While the number of students who achieved a perfect score last year was 413, this figure rose to 719 this year, marking a 74 percent increase.
In the distribution of students who achieved a perfect score by province, Istanbul took the lead with 163 students. It was followed by Ankara with 56, Izmir with 49, Antalya with 36, and Konya with 29 students. 63 students from Imam Hatip middle schools also drew attention by achieving a perfect score.
The number of students who achieved a perfect score in other provinces was as follows: Gaziantep 23, Bursa 20, Kocaeli 19, Kayseri 18, Mersin 17, Samsun 15, Balikesir 14, Trabzon 11, Diyarbakir, Eskisehir, and Kahramanmaras 10 each, Afyonkarahisar 9, Aydin, Tekirdag, Malatya, Manisa, Erzurum, and Denizli 8 each, Kirsehir and Sakarya 7 each, Isparta, Amasya, and Canakkale 6 each, Tokat, Sivas, Aksaray, Hatay, Mardin, and Kutahya 5 each, Sanliurfa, Osmaniye, Mugla, Usak, Corum, and Edirne 4 each, Zonguldak, Elazig, Giresun, Kirikkale, Van, Nigde, Nevsehir, Kastamonu, and Batman 3 each, Mus, Adiyaman, Yalova, Karabuk, Karaman, Bolu, and Erzincan 2 each, while one student each from Yozgat, Duzce, Bartin, Burdur, Gumushane, Bitlis, Ordu, Bingol, and Rize achieved a perfect score of 500 in the exam.
