Istanbul's highest-scoring high schools announced
According to the initial placement results, Istanbul High School (İstanbul Erkek Lisesi) topped the list with a perfect score of 500; the transfer preference period has also begun.

Following the initial placement results of the central exam under the High School Transition System (LGS), conducted by the Ministry of National Education on June 13, the high schools in Istanbul that admitted students with the highest base scores have been clarified.
According to the results, Istanbul High School (İstanbul Erkek Lisesi) took the top spot on the list by admitting students with a perfect score of 500. The German program of Kabataş High School (Kabataş Erkek Lisesi) also stood out with a base score of 500, while the school's English program admitted students with a score of 497.75. Galatasaray High School (Galatasaray Lisesi) ranked third with a base score of 497.43.
According to the calendar announced by the Ministry of National Education (MEB), the central exam results were announced on July 10, and students made their high school preferences between July 13 and 27. Of the 198,905 spots available in schools that admit students via the exam, 190,473 were filled. The placement rate was recorded at 95.76 percent.

The top 10 schools on the list in Istanbul included Istanbul High School, Kabataş High School, Galatasaray High School, Istanbul Atatürk Science High School, Cağaloğlu Anatolian High School, Hüseyin Avni Sözen Anatolian High School, Haydarpaşa High School, Beşiktaş Sakıp Sabancı Anatolian High School, Kadıköy Anatolian High School, and Kartal Anatolian İmam Hatip High School.

Two İmam Hatip high schools also made it into the top 20. Kartal Anatolian İmam Hatip High School ranked 10th with 483.43 points, and Kadıköy Anatolian İmam Hatip High School ranked 18th with 472.39 points.
The first transfer preference period for placements has also begun. Applications for the first transfer will be accepted until August 7, and the results will be announced on August 10. Second transfer preferences will be accepted between August 10 and 12, and the results will be announced on August 14.
For students who were not placed anywhere, applications for remaining vacancies will be accepted by provincial and district student placement and transfer commissions between August 17 and 26. Boarding applications will be made between August 31 and September 3, and the results will be announced on September 4.
