New course for high school seniors! No grades will be given

The Ministry of National Education is adding a new course called "Goal-Oriented Support Education" to the curriculum for high school seniors starting from the 2025-2026 academic year. This course, which will provide academic support to students during their university preparation process, will be optional and will not be graded.

The Ministry of National Education is adding a new course to the curriculum starting from the 2025-2026 academic year to improve the academic success of 12th-grade students and support their university preparation processes.

SCHOOL ADMINISTRATIONS WILL PLAN IT

"Goal-Oriented Support Education", as this course will be called, will be planned by school administrations according to student preferences and can be selected for 3 to 6 hours per week.

According to the report in Türkiye Gazetesi, the course will include many subject areas such as Turkish language and literature, physics, chemistry, biology, history, geography, philosophy, mathematics, sociology, psychology, logic, first foreign language, contemporary Turkish and world history, History of the Republic of Turkey and Atatürkism, religious culture and ethics, and history of Turkish culture and civilization.

NO GRADES WILL BE GIVEN

A minimum of 1 hour and a maximum of 3 hours per week can be allocated for each subject. The content will be prepared by subject teacher committees based on the relevant curricula. No grades will be given to students at the end of this course; the sole purpose will be to provide academic support.
