A regulation regarding Galatasaray High School, Galatasaray Middle School, and Galatasaray Primary School, which are affiliated with Galatasaray University, has been amended. With the regulation published in the Official Gazette and now in effect, new criteria will be applied to the direct transition of students who graduate from Galatasaray Middle School to Galatasaray High School.

According to the new regulation, Galatasaray Middle School graduates will be eligible to take the Turkish and French proficiency exams organized by the institution if they rank within the “top 4 percent” in the central examination conducted by the Ministry of National Education.

Students who score at least 70 out of 100 in both language proficiency exams separately will be placed in the 9th grade of the high school. Students who fail to achieve the required score will continue in the French preparatory class.

Prior to the regulation, students attending Galatasaray Middle School were able to transition to Galatasaray High School without an examination. According to a temporary article in the regulation, the provision regarding the “new enrollment percentile” will not apply to students who enrolled in the first grade of primary school before the 2026-2027 academic year.
