Semester break ends: The second term begins
Approximately 20 million students across Turkey are starting the second term following a two-week semester break. The mid-term break will take place between March 31 and April 4.

The second term of the 2024-2025 academic year begins tomorrow. Approximately 20 million students in preschool, primary, and secondary schools are returning to their classrooms to start the second term of 2024. Following the two-week semester break, students will continue the academic year that began on September 9, 2024. Students attending schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education are receiving education in more than 75 thousand schools and nearly 750 thousand classrooms.
Students will have their second-term mid-term break between March 31 and April 4. The 2024-2025 academic year will conclude on June 20.
SUPPORT ACTION PLAN PREPARED
Following the hotel fire in Bolu Kartalkaya, the Ministry of National Education (MEB) has prepared a Psychosocial Support Action Plan for students, teachers, and parents to be implemented with the start of the second term in schools.
Within the scope of the action plan, guidance and psychological counseling activities will be carried out in schools by expert guidance teachers and psychological counselors to help students cope with post-traumatic stress disorders that may develop due to challenging life events.
Provincial and district psychosocial support service teams, under the coordination of the Ministry, will conduct information sessions for families on how they can support their children following challenging life events.
Information sessions will be held within the scope of the "Teacher Psychoeducation Program After Challenging Life Events" prepared by the Ministry to strengthen teachers' skills in coping with the effects of challenging life events.
