Due to heavy snowfall, icing, and fog, schools in various districts across four provinces have been closed for one day. Governor's offices and district governorships announced precautionary measures one after another, taking into account potential risks in transportation.
VILLAGE SCHOOLS AND BUSING SUSPENDED IN AĞRI
The Ağrı Governor's Office reported that, in line with meteorological forecasts, snowfall is expected to continue strongly across the province. Considering the possibility of transportation disruptions and icing, education has been suspended for one day in all village schools and schools covered by busing services.
ALL INSTITUTIONS CLOSED IN THREE DISTRICTS OF VAN
In the Çaldıran, Muradiye, and Saray districts of Van, education has been completely suspended. In a statement issued by the Saray District Governorship, it was stated, "Due to snowfall, icing, and fog, education has been suspended for one day on Wednesday, February 11, in all formal and non-formal education institutions, as well as public education, family support, and rehabilitation centers."
In these districts, disabled and pregnant personnel working in public institutions, as well as mothers with children aged 0-6, will be considered on administrative leave.
SNOW DISRUPTS SCHOOLS IN CENTRAL ERZURUM
The Erzurum Governor's Office announced that education has been suspended for one day in all official and private primary and secondary schools, as well as special education institutions, in the central districts of Yakutiye, Palandöken, and Aziziye. The statement, which drew attention to the risk of snowfall and icing, also noted that pregnant and disabled public personnel would be on administrative leave.
DECISIONS VARY BY DISTRICT IN MUŞ
In Muş, the implementation varied by district. While all schools were closed in Varto, education was suspended only in village schools and schools covered by busing services in Bulanık and Malazgirt. The Varto District Governorship also announced that pregnant, disabled, and chronically ill public personnel, as well as personnel with children attending daycare, would be considered on administrative leave.
Authorities warned citizens to be careful and take precautions against adverse weather conditions.
