Snow in May forces school closures: 1-day break in education in that province
Due to the snowfall and heavy rain affecting Afyonkarahisar, a 1-day break in education was announced in some districts, while only bused education was suspended in others.

Adverse weather conditions in Afyonkarahisar have caused disruptions in education. The Afyonkarahisar Governor's Office shared the measures taken due to the snowfall and heavy rain with the public.
In a statement made on the Governor's Office's social media account, it was reported that education was suspended in some districts, taking into account the weather conditions affecting the province and potential risks in transportation.
Accordingly, educational activities were suspended for 1 day in the Sandıklı, Sinanpaşa, and Bayat districts. It was announced that in the Bolvadin, Şuhut, Çobanlar, İscehisar, Sultandağı, Başmakçı, İhsaniye, and the Cerit Plateau region of Kızılören, education was suspended for 1 day only for students under the bused education system.
On the other hand, it was stated that students who access school via the bused system from the Büyükkalecik and Anıtkaya villages connected to the center, as well as secondary education students commuting from these regions to the city center, will also be considered on leave.
It was reported that educational activities continue as normal in the Afyonkarahisar city center and the Dinar, Emirdağ, Evciler, Dazkırı, Hocalar, and Çay districts.
The statement also indicated that pregnant and disabled public personnel working in the districts where education was suspended will be considered on administrative leave.
