The second mid-term break of the 2025-2026 academic year has come to an end. According to the current calendar shared by the Ministry of National Education (MEB), the mid-term break, which took place between March 16-20, was extended to a total of 9 days with the addition of weekends and the Eid al-Fitr holiday. As the break now concludes, students and teachers will head back to school.

Following the break, over 18 million students and 1.2 million teachers across Turkey will return to their schools to continue their education where they left off. The school bell will ring again tomorrow morning.

As is the case every year, students preparing for exams are closely following important dates. The central exam under the High School Transition System (LGS), which 8th-grade middle school students will take, will be held on June 14. Candidates wishing to enter university will participate in the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) between June 20-21.

Following all these processes, the academic year will end on Friday, June 26. This intense marathon, which began on September 8, 2025, will send students and teachers off to summer vacation.
