When will LGS preferences begin? The Ministry of National Education (MEB) has announced the 2026 high school preference calendar

Following the announcement of the 2026 LGS results, all eyes have turned to the high school preference process. According to the calendar published by the Ministry of National Education, LGS preferences will begin on July 13 and end on July 27 at 17:00. While the dates for local placement, schools accepting students via central exam, boarding school preferences, total preference rights, and the announcement of placement results have been determined, students and parents will follow the rules to be observed during the preference process via e-Okul.

Following the announcement of the LGS results, the calendar for the high school preference process has been clarified. According to the Ministry of National Education’s 2026 Secondary Education Transition Preference and Placement Guide, the preference process will begin on July 13.

Students and parents will be able to make their preferences via the e-Okul system. The process will be completed by 17:00 on July 27, 2026. Placement results and vacant quotas will be announced on August 5, 2026.

RULES TO BE APPLIED IN LOCAL PLACEMENT

The local placement section will be the first to appear on the students' preference screen. The preference screen for schools accepting students via central exam and boarding schools will not open until this section is completed.

In local placement, students will be able to select a maximum of 5 schools. The first 3 preferences must be made from schools within the student's registration area. A maximum of 3 schools of the same school type can be added to the preference list.

PREFERENCE RIGHTS FOR SCHOOLS ACCEPTING STUDENTS VIA CENTRAL EXAM

Students who complete their local placement preferences will also be able to make preferences for a maximum of 10 schools that accept students via central exam and a maximum of 5 boarding schools. Thus, the total number of preference rights for students can reach up to 20.

HOW WILL PREFERENCES BE APPROVED?

Students who cannot perform the process electronically will be able to receive support from the school they graduated from or any official middle school. For preferences to be considered valid, they must be approved by the relevant middle school administration.

TRANSFER PROCESS WILL BEGIN AFTER PLACEMENT

Following the announcement of the placement results, a transfer process will begin for students who could not be placed in any school or who wish to change their school.
