Ahead of the 2026-2027 academic year, one of the issues parents are most curious about has been the school registration process. The Ministry of National Education registers students who will start preschool, the 1st grade of primary school and the 5th grade of middle school based on their residential addresses recorded in MERNİS.

According to the Ministry’s practice, no separate application is required for students starting primary school. Registration procedures are completed automatically through the e-Okul system.

School registrations are carried out based on students’ residential addresses recorded in MERNİS.

Parents can learn which school their children have been placed in through the e-Devlet Gateway. To do so, after logging into the system, they need to type the service “Primary Schools Address-Based Registration School Inquiry (e-Registration)” into the search section.

Parents who reach the inquiry screen can view the address-based registration school after the identity verification step. The service can be accessed using an e-Devlet password, mobile signature, electronic signature, Republic of Turkey identity card or internet banking options.

On e-Devlet, transactions can be carried out through the “Primary Schools Address-Based Registration School Inquiry (e-Registration)” service.

The classes and classroom teachers of students who will start the 1st grade of primary school, and the classes of students who will start the 5th grade of middle school, will be determined before the academic year begins within the scope of the relevant legislation.
