AKP's Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate Nebi Hatipoğlu scolded an Es TV reporter who was filming at the Emine Cahide Karaali Secondary School, where he arrived to cast his vote, by saying "What are you filming, son?"
According to the report by Artı Gerçek, Hatipoğlu did not want the local broadcaster Es TV to film his statement. Hatipoğlu demanded that the camera be turned off.
Hatipoğlu's words were as follows:
"What are you filming, son? Three months of insults, slander. Es TV insulted us 24 hours a day. We know it is a CHP broadcasting outlet. We know it is fed from there and that its bills are paid. Such biased reporting, three months of insults and slander, is unacceptable."
A reporter from another local newspaper, Eskişehir.net, responded to the situation as follows:
"We are also the press. What you are doing is not right," to which Hatipoğlu replied, "If you are uncomfortable, then don't film, come on. Es TV isn't filming either, come on, brother."
Afterward, Hatipoğlu said, "Is Eskişehir Haber here? They shouldn't film either."
