The Beykoz District Election Board evaluated the requests for a recount of all votes cast in the district, as well as the invalid votes, in the March 31 Local Administration General Elections.
Following the evaluation, the board rejected the objections to the election results.
Addressing party members after the decision, CHP Istanbul Provincial Chair Özgür Çelik shared the information that the objections regarding the recount of all votes in Beykoz, and subsequently the invalid votes, had been rejected.
Pointing out that an appeal can also be made to the Provincial Election Board, Çelik stated the following:
"We are following the process in this regard as well. A similar issue is currently taking place in Gaziosmanpaşa. In Gaziosmanpaşa, the District Election Board accepted the objections made by the rival political party. We have appealed the accepted objection to the Provincial Election Board. We are following both the process in Beykoz and the process in Gaziosmanpaşa very carefully."
'LET US MANAGE THIS CALMLY'
Stating that a group of party members would continue their vigil at the Beykoz District Election Board, Çelik invited citizens to return to their homes.
Çelik said, "Let us pay great attention to this matter with sensitivity. Let us manage the process calmly without giving way to arguments or provocations."
After the District Election Board announced its decision, the waiting party members left the area.
