Migration from Lebanon to Syria continues: 17 thousand people have migrated
Mutual attacks between Israel and Hezbollah have been ongoing for nearly 2 weeks. Lebanese and Syrian families have begun fleeing to Syria due to Israel's intense attacks. Thousands of people departing from Lebanon waited for hours in traffic to cross into Syria, which is experiencing a humanitarian and economic crisis due to years of civil war. Due to the buses and vehicles flocking to the border since Monday, kilometers-long traffic formed at the Jdeidat Yabous crossing. Some families who could not find vehicles were forced to cross the border on foot.

Rula Amin, spokesperson for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) for the Middle East and North Africa, stated that some of the Lebanese people migrating are injured, adding, "Many people will have to spend the night outside to wait for their turn."
It was learned that families arriving in Syria were being held by officials for processing and were being provided with food, water, and blankets. Transportation official Alaa Al-Sheikh stated in a statement that as of Wednesday, 17,700 people, including 3,800 Lebanese nationals, had crossed the border into the Damascus countryside of Syria. Meanwhile, the recent wave of migration from Lebanon, which has been hosting more than 1 million Syrian refugees who fled the civil war that began in 2011, has been interpreted as a reversal of history. According to the latest data, the total death toll from Israel's attacks on Lebanon since Monday, September 23, has reached 654.
