New allegations regarding Narin Güran: She was lying unconscious in her uncle's car

Narin Güran from Diyarbakır was only 8 years old. Narin, who left home on August 21 to attend a Quran course, has not been heard from since. As 14 days have passed in the search efforts, first her older brother and then her uncle were taken into custody. Her uncle, Salim Güran, who left the village 15 minutes after Narin went missing and in whose car Narin's DNA was found, has been arrested. While information has emerged that blood, vomit, and urine samples were taken from the suspect uncle's vehicle, a comment made on social media and a claim put forward have caused confusion.

8-year-old Narin Güran left her home in Tavşantepe Village, in the Bağlar district of Diyarbakır, on August 21 to attend a Quran course and has not been heard from since. Millions have been searching for the answer to what happened to Narin, who has been missing for 14 days.

Following the family's report to the gendarmerie, teams from the Bağlar Gendarmerie Command, the Bağlar Public Order Commando Company Command, Gendarmerie Special Operations teams, Gendarmerie Crime Investigation Teams (JASAT), the Intelligence Branch Directorate, the Dog Tracking Team, and the Underwater Search and Rescue Team, as well as health, AFAD, Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality underwater search teams, and search and rescue teams from district municipalities were dispatched to the region.

As part of the search efforts initiated, approximately 150 vehicles identified as passing through the area during the hours Narin went missing were questioned. Searches were conducted in the houses in the neighborhood and in vehicles entering the village. To date, a total of 12 thousand 565 vehicles have been searched, 130 people have been questioned, 32 thousand 952 people have been checked, and searches have been carried out over an area of more than 11 thousand decares with 7 tracking dogs.

Additionally, the final footage of Narin before she went missing has emerged. In the security camera footage from the school dated August 21 at 15:15, Narin is seen walking with 4 friends, after which she separates from them and heads toward her home using the hill path.

A striking development occurred while the investigation was ongoing. Narin's 18-year-old brother, E.G., was taken into custody. An examination was conducted at the Istanbul Council of Forensic Medicine due to suspicions that a bite mark on his arm might belong to Narin. However, as it could not be determined whether the bite marks belonged to Narin, the brother, E.G., was released.

Following the release of the older brother, a development that has horrified Turkey has emerged. DNA samples belonging to the young girl were found in the vehicle of Narin's uncle, Salim Güran, who is the village headman (muhtar). The allegation that Uncle Salim Güran left the village 15 minutes after Narin was last seen and that his phone was turned off for one hour has also caused confusion. An examination of the uncle's phone revealed that all WhatsApp messages and call logs had been deleted.

Uncle Salim Güran, in whose vehicle Narin's DNA was found, has been arrested on charges of "intentional homicide" and "deprivation of liberty." A Haber reporter Sinan Yılmaz shared details regarding Salim Güran's testimony in the case that has become the talk of Turkey. It was even alleged that Salim Güran had told Narin's father, "I will cause you such pain that you will never forget it for the rest of your life."

Denying the allegations, Salim Güran also stated that he participated in the search efforts for Narin. Regarding the discovery of Narin's DNA in his vehicle, uncle Salim Güran explained that he never had Narin in his car, that he does not know how her DNA profile ended up in the vehicle, and that he sometimes left the car doors unlocked while it was parked in front of his house.

Defending himself regarding the fact that he left the village 15 minutes after Narin was last seen and that his phone was turned off for 1 hour, uncle Güran claimed, "My phone did not have service while I was near the fields." When asked why he deleted the WhatsApp messages and call logs on his phone, Salim Güran stated, "When my brother Arif's ammunition was seized, I called to ask if there was anyone I knew who could help. For this reason, I deleted all records from that date."

Another striking development has occurred regarding the missing Narin Güran case, which has become a major topic of conversation in Turkey. Comments made by a gas station employee on the social media account of uncle Salih Güran have caused astonishment.

The gas station employee, identified as Murat Çınar Çatalca, wrote in a comment that on the day Narin went missing, she was wrapped in a blanket and unconscious in her uncle's vehicle. Murat Çınar Çatalca also emphasized that the uncle, who stopped at the gas station on the day Narin disappeared, only purchased wet wipes from the store.

A gas station employee claimed the following in a comment they wrote: "HTS records show that Salim Güran had both messages and call logs with Narin Güran's mother. 15-20 minutes after Narin went missing, Salim Güran left the village quickly in his own vehicle; he didn't even get fuel, he entered the gas station and only bought wet wipes. This village headman was also in contact with Narin's brother. On the day of the incident, Narin was either unconscious or lying in the front seat, having been strangled by Salim with his hands, and there was a dark brown blanket over her. Salim Güran returned to the village in the dark 2 hours after the incident, this time acting as if he knew nothing, crying and asking what happened to Narin."

It has been learned that following this comment, the individual went to the gendarmerie to provide a statement.

On the other hand, a striking claim has been made regarding samples taken from Salim Güran’s vehicle. Specifically, traces of urine, vomit, and blood were found in the uncle's vehicle. DNA matching confirmed that the samples belonged to Narin.
