The People's Alliance Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayoral Candidate Murat Kurum has cast his vote.
Kurum performed the voting process along with his wife at the Imece Primary School in Istanbul's Kağıthane district.
Kurum made a statement to members of the press after casting his vote:
"Today we will experience a festival of democracy. We will hopefully win at the ballot box to eliminate the earthquake risk and end the traffic ordeal. The sun will rise on March 31. We will celebrate an early holiday today together with the people of Istanbul. Protect your ballot boxes."
