According to initial data in the 2024 Local Elections, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and CHP candidate Mansur Yavaş, who appeared to be leading by a significant margin in Ankara, issued a call to the citizens of Ankara via X.
Stating "Ankara has won," Yavaş said the following in his post:
"Hello, beautiful-hearted people of our beautiful Capital. The metropolitan results are in, we are waiting for the district results. I invite all my fellow citizens, except for our ballot box officials, to the courtyard of the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality headquarters at 22:00. Ankara has won."
