President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan casts his vote: 'I hope this will be the beginning of a new era and a new century'

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan arrived at Saffet Çebi Secondary School to cast his vote as part of the March 31 Local Elections.

It took Erdoğan 4 minutes and 20 seconds to vote, and he cast his ballot into the box together with his wife, Emine Erdoğan.

Highlights from Erdoğan's statements are as follows:

"We held the presidential elections. We are now holding the local government elections. Truly, these two elections back-to-back have tired our nation.

They have tired us as well. We went through a very intense campaign. I hope and predict that a favorable result will emerge from the local government elections.

This election will serve as the beginning of a new era in our country.

On one hand, I hope that these local government elections will be the beginning of a new era and a new century.

I would also like to thank all my friends who are members of the ballot box committees."
