The Supreme Election Council (YSK) has ruled on objections filed by the CHP, AKP, New Welfare Party (Yeniden Refah), DEM Party, and MHP regarding the local elections.
The DEM Party's request to overturn the Provincial Election Board's decision to recount votes in Mardin's Dargeçit district was accepted. Thus, the votes will not be recounted.
OBJECTIONS FROM 4 PARTIES REJECTED
The CHP's request for a recount of votes or a rerun of the election for the Körfez Mayor was rejected. Similarly, the CHP's request for the cancellation of the Besni mayoral election was also rejected.
The Council also rejected the MHP's request for a recount of mayoral ballots in Samsun's Salıpazarı and the New Welfare Party's request for the cancellation of the mayoral election in Samsun's Bafra.
Furthermore, the New Welfare Party's request for the cancellation of the mayoral election or the certificate of election in Samsun's Vezirköprü was also denied.
The YSK also rejected the AKP's request for a rerun of the Siirt mayoral election.
REJECTIONS FOR 3 DISTRICTS IN ISTANBUL
The YSK also rejected the CHP's request for a recount of votes in the mayoral elections in Istanbul's Bahçelievler, Ümraniye, and Pendik, as well as in Nevşehir's Avanos district.
The YSK also decided to reject the DEM Party's request for a recount of votes in the Bitlis mayoral election.
AKP'S REQUEST IN ŞANLIURFA REJECTED
The YSK overturned the decision made by the Şanlıurfa Provincial Election Board regarding the repetition of elections in Halfeti and Siverek.
The YSK has issued its decision regarding the Halfeti and Siverek districts of Şanlıurfa. In the Local Administration General Elections held on March 31 in Halfeti, DEM Party candidate Mehmet Karayılan received 39.45 percent of the votes, while AKP candidate Şeref Albayrak received 33.64 percent. After the counting was completed, AKP officials objected to the election results on the grounds that “ballots in the ballot boxes were burned and irregularities occurred in voting.” Following an investigation, the Provincial Election Board accepted the objection and decided to rerun the election.
