'YSK' precaution in Sıhhiye: Area closed off with barriers following Özgür Özel's call

Following the issuance of a certificate of election to the AKP candidate in Hatay before the election results were finalized as part of the March 31 Local Elections, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel had called for a gathering in front of the YSK. The Ankara Police Department took extensive security measures in the area following Özel's call.

While the objection process was still ongoing during the March 31 Local Elections, the Hatay Provincial Election Board had issued the certificate of election to the AKP candidate.

Following the decision, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel called on citizens to gather in front of the YSK today at 15:00.

After the call, the area around the park in Sıhhiye was closed off with barriers. 

"I AM CALLING YOU TO THE YSK FOR A CONSTITUTIONAL SEARCH FOR JUSTICE"

Özel had stated the following on his social media account:

"The will of Hatay at the ballot box has been interfered with for days through behind-the-scenes games.

Before our applications were concluded and before the YSK announced its decision, a certificate of election was issued unfairly and unlawfully due to political pressure.

We will be in front of the YSK tomorrow at 15:00.

I am calling everyone who wants to protect the will of Hatay to the YSK for a peaceful and constitutional search for justice."
