As air temperatures in Kocaeli dropped below seasonal norms, snowfall became effective in the higher elevations.
Snow, which began intermittently yesterday at the summit points of Kartepe located on the Samanlı Mountains, continued today, quickly covering the region in white.

Citizens who encountered snow in the spring enjoyed the scenery created by the white blanket with their families. The snow depth in the region was measured at 12 centimeters.
TEAMS ARE IN THE FIELD
The A-Team and Road Squad teams affiliated with the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Department of Road Maintenance and Repair are continuing their work to ensure there are no disruptions in transportation.
Operating in the region with 3 snowplows and 7 personnel, the teams have been continuing snow clearing and salting activities for over 24 hours to keep the roads open.
