AKOM delivers the good news Istanbulites have been waiting for: Temperatures to drop, cooler weather is coming

As Istanbul enters the final days of August, a drop in air temperatures is expected. According to the weekly weather forecast report published by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM), the city will experience mostly clear and partly cloudy weather throughout the week.

According to the report, temperatures in Istanbul will reach up to 32 degrees during the midday hours on Tuesday, August 25. The temperature, which will hover around 25 degrees in the morning, is expected to be 25 degrees in the evening and 22 degrees at night.

COOLER WEATHER EXPECTED ON FRIDAY

According to AKOM's assessment, temperatures will remain 1 to 3 degrees above seasonal norms throughout the week. However, cooler weather is expected in the city starting Friday.

On Wednesday, August 26, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy and clear, with temperatures ranging between 22 and 31 degrees. On Thursday, August 27, temperatures are forecast to remain between 22 and 31 degrees with partly cloudy weather.

On Friday, August 28, temperatures are expected to drop to 21-29 degrees, with partly cloudy weather reported. Temperatures are not expected to exceed 30 degrees over the weekend; forecasts suggest a range of 20-28 degrees on Saturday and 21-30 degrees on Sunday.

On Monday, August 31, temperatures are projected to rise back to the 22-31 degree range. While no significant precipitation is expected in the weekly forecasts, the possibility of short-term local showers starting from Friday is also being evaluated.

No precipitation is expected in the city today. The wind is expected to blow strongly from the northeast, occasionally reaching speeds of 30-60 kilometers per hour. It was stated that the humidity rate will be between 45-85 percent, and the sea water temperature will be around 24 degrees.
