AKOM issues warning to Istanbul residents with specific hours
The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) has announced that temperatures in Istanbul will range between 33-36 degrees throughout the new week. AKOM also warned Istanbul residents to avoid being in sunny environments during the midday hours when extreme heat is most effective.

Istanbul began the day with an air temperature of around 26 degrees and a partly cloudy sky.
As temperatures rose toward midday, a warning was issued to citizens living in Istanbul by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM).
Temperatures in Istanbul are expected to hover between 33-36 degrees throughout the new week. The wind is expected to blow mostly at moderate strength from the northeast (poyraz), with occasional strong gusts.
BEWARE OF MIDDAY HOURS
AKOM also warned Istanbul residents to avoid spending too much time under the sun, especially between 10:00 and 16:00 when the sun's rays are at their most direct, to consume plenty of fluids, and to take care to choose thin, cotton clothing suitable for seasonal conditions.
The statement noted that it would be beneficial for the health of Istanbul residents, especially the elderly, pregnant women, children, and those with conditions such as asthma and heart failure, to avoid being in sunny environments during the midday hours when extreme heat is most effective.
Air temperatures in Istanbul are expected to remain 3-6 degrees above seasonal norms until July 28.
