Attention Istanbul residents: Meteorology issues warning with specific hours
The Meteorology 1st Regional Directorate issued a warning for local heavy thunderstorms expected in the western and northern parts of Istanbul and around the Bosphorus. Following the warnings, the downpour began to take effect.

In a statement made by the Meteorology 1st Regional Directorate's Istanbul Regional Forecast and Early Warning Center, it was stated that local heavy thunderstorms are expected in the western and northern parts of the city and around the Bosphorus between 10:00 and 15:00 today.
The statement warned to be careful and cautious against negative conditions such as flash floods, inundations, lightning, local hail, sudden strong winds, and short-term storms, as well as disruptions in transportation.
Following the warnings, the downpour began to take effect around the Bosphorus.
Additionally, supercells formed in the sky during the rainfall.
WHAT IS A SUPERCELL?
A supercell is a powerful form of thunderstorm that occurs in regions with high vertical winds due to extreme thermodynamic instability where there is significant angular wind direction change in the upper levels of the atmosphere. These supercells are divided into three types: low-precipitation, classic, and high-precipitation.
