Attention residents of Istanbul and Ankara! Haze and fog warning from the Meteorological Service

Meteorological data indicates that no precipitation is expected across the country today, and air temperatures will generally remain at seasonal norms. 

Temperatures are expected to be above seasonal norms in the western parts, around seasonal norms in the eastern parts, and locally below seasonal norms in the east of Eastern Anatolia. 

FOG AND HAZE WARNING

On the other hand, fog and haze are expected in many provinces, including Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, and Antalya, during the morning hours.

According to data from the General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM), no precipitation is expected across the country today.

It is estimated that the inner parts of the Western Black Sea, the south and east of Central Anatolia, and the inner parts of the Mediterranean will be partly to very cloudy, while other areas will be partly to mostly clear.

AVALANCHE WARNING

There is a risk of avalanches in areas with high snow cover in the inner parts of the Eastern Black Sea and the north and east of Eastern Anatolia.

Fog and local haze are expected in the Marmara region as well as in the inner and eastern parts during the morning and night hours.

While no significant change in air temperature is expected, it is estimated that temperatures will remain above seasonal norms in the western parts, around seasonal norms in the eastern parts, and locally below seasonal norms in the east of Eastern Anatolia.

The wind is expected to blow generally from the south, and from the north and northeast in the southeastern parts, at light to occasionally moderate strength. In the vicinity of Hakkari, the east of Şırnak, and the south of Van, it is expected to blow strongly from the north and northeast (40-60 km/h), and occasionally as a short-term storm (60-80 km/h) in high and mountainous areas.
