Attention those making weekend plans! AKOM issues warning with specific times: Downpours are coming to Istanbul

The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) has reported that rainfall in the city will increase in intensity during the evening hours and will continue intermittently until 17:00 tomorrow.

According to the statement made by the İBB-affiliated AKOM, the regional rainfall currently seen in the city is expected to spread across the entire province starting from the evening hours, manifesting as locally strong thunderstorms.

The rainfall, which is expected to continue until 17:00 on Saturday, is forecast to be strong in the city center and potentially very strong in the northern regions bordering the Black Sea, with temperatures expected to range between 20-23 degrees.

Air temperatures in Istanbul are projected to remain around seasonal norms or 1-3 degrees below until September 21, and between September 22-30, they are expected to range from around seasonal norms to 1-3 degrees above.
