In the Çamardı district of Niğde, the appearance of 'camel spiders' as the weather warms up is causing concern.
Following the frequent sightings of camel spiders—known for their ability to easily tear and eat pieces of meat—as temperatures rise, citizens have requested a solution from authorities through pest control.
It is stated that camel spiders, which differ from other large spiders due to their feeding habits and have an appearance similar to a yellow scorpion, can feed by eating many animals, including scorpions.
It is also known that because their eyes are sensitive to light, these spiders only move at night, and while they can harm humans they bite due to their powerful jaws, they are not venomous.
Citizens are urged to be cautious against the spider, which emerges with the warming weather, and in the event of a bite, to immediately apply ammonia treatment and then consult a healthcare facility right away.
