Ereğli Bereket Tarım has gone bankrupt! Court rejects concordat request

Founded in 2021, Ereğli Bereket Tarım Hayvancılık Sanayi Ticaret Limited Şirketi could not withstand its economic difficulties. The Konya 2nd Commercial Court of First Instance rejected the company's concordat application and ruled for its bankruptcy.

According to information published on İlan.gov.tr, the court lifted the temporary and final grace period decisions during the hearing held on April 16, 2025, in accordance with Article 287 of the Enforcement and Bankruptcy Law. With the bankruptcy decision taken on the same day, a bankruptcy estate was established under the file number 2025/2 Bankruptcy at the Ereğli Enforcement Office. The term of the temporary concordat commissioner, Ertan Nebi Önal, has also ended.

NO SALVATION DESPITE A WIDE RANGE OF SERVICES

Ereğli Bereket Tarım provided services in many areas, from the purchase and sale of livestock to the supply of roughage, and the sale of chemical and organic fertilizers. It had also established an important place in the regional agricultural sector with a customer-oriented approach by supporting farmers in areas such as the purchase of seedlings, tomatoes, corn, sunflowers, and sugar beets. However, the increasing debt burden and the deepening economic crisis could not prevent the company from being dragged into bankruptcy.

FARMERS ARE WORRIED: UNCERTAINTY PREVAILS

The company's bankruptcy has created great uncertainty among regional farmers, especially regarding product purchases and sugar beet quotas. Local sources state that the bankruptcy could create a domino effect in the agricultural sector. The closure of Ereğli Bereket Tarım could create a serious void in the agricultural ecosystem in Konya. Authorities continue to seek solutions to prevent farmers from suffering grievances.
