Following statements from the General Directorate of Meteorology and the Istanbul Governor's Office indicating that temperatures would drop significantly and snowfall was expected in several provinces, including Istanbul, snow began to fall in the mega-city during the morning hours.
The snowfall, which is currently light in Şişli, is expected to turn into sleet and snow in higher elevations throughout the day.
