An important development has occurred in the fight against forest fires continuing in many regions of Turkey. The forest fire that had been raging for days in the Çeşme district of İzmir has been brought under control as a result of intensive efforts.
FIGHT CONTINUES IN ÖDEMİŞ AND BUCA
However, the fire danger in İzmir persists. Forest fires in the Ödemiş and Buca districts have not yet been brought under control. Teams are working non-stop to extinguish the fires with intensive aerial and ground interventions.
STATEMENT FROM MINISTER YUMAKLI
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı stated in a post on social media, "As a result of the intensive struggle of our forest heroes throughout the night and our aerial intervention that began with the first light of morning, the fire in İzmir's Çeşme has been brought under control. Our intensive struggle from the air and ground to bring the fires in Ödemiş and Buca under control continues. We will continue to defend our #GreenHomeland against the flames with all our might."
