A fire broke out for an as-yet undetermined reason in a forested area in the Tozluburun locality near Dağdemirler village, in the central district of Uşak, around noon today. The flames spread over a wide area in a short time due to the strong winds effective in the region.

TEAMS ON HIGH ALERT

Upon reports from citizens, numerous teams from the Forestry Management Directorate were dispatched to the fire zone. While aerial intervention was initiated with 2 helicopters, a large number of fire trucks and forestry workers also joined the ground suppression efforts.

INTERVENTION CONTINUES WITHOUT INTERRUPTION

It was reported that teams are working intensively to bring the flames under control. It was stated that the rugged terrain structure and the wind in the region are complicating the suppression efforts. Officials from the General Directorate of Forestry stated that the fire started at a point far from residential areas, but that all measures have been taken to prevent it from expanding.

It was learned that an investigation into the cause of the fire has been launched and that teams are continuing their field examinations and review of camera footage in the region. Security measures have been increased in the surrounding area to prevent the fire from spreading to residential areas.
