Governor's Office announces: Entry to forests in that city banned until October 30
In Samsun, entry to forests has been banned until October 30 to prevent forest fires. This ban covers all forested areas except for registered picnic areas and national parks.

The Samsun Governor's Office has announced new measures taken to prevent forest fires. The decisions, based on the Forest Law No. 6831 and the Provincial Administration Law No. 5442, have been made public. In this context, activities such as stopping, picnicking, or lighting barbecues or samovars in or along roads passing through forests have been prohibited. Additionally, the use of motor vehicles in forested areas has been restricted.
The burning of stubble and garden waste in and around forest villages is also among the prohibitions. Organizations related to industrial facilities and energy transmission lines have been mandated to take precautions against fire risks.
Municipalities, meanwhile, have been obligated to create buffer zones at waste collection areas near forests and to keep heavy machinery on standby.
To ensure the effective implementation of these decisions, inspection teams consisting of general law enforcement and forest rangers will operate under the coordination of district governorships and Forest Management Directorates.
Judicial and administrative proceedings will be applied to those who do not comply with the bans within the framework of the Forest Law No. 6831, the Turkish Penal Code, and the Law on Misdemeanors. The bans will be in effect from June 19 to October 30, 2025.
